Corporate Identity seems to mean different things to different people. We regard it as a combination of branding (the identifying logo and look of a company or product line in all its manifestations) and the way in which 'a family' of products or services can retain individual identity while recognisably being from the same source. This latter aspect of 'connectivity' usually relies on a subtle similarity of design and layout that may nonetheless incorporate very different elements for each particular brand.
